In the logic of contemporary art, classic media are given new tasks and classic tasks are solved with new media. Aaron Scheers creates unique paper works with scalable technology, a combination of analog and digital photographic and printing processes, usually used to produce multiples. Mirroring the process of cryptographic concatenation in the Blockchain technology which allows to assign attributes to a digital unit and make it unique, Aaron`s work are interpretations of inimitable pieces of art in the digital age.
Aaron Scheer sees his work as painting, playing with the conventional understanding of focus and blurring. Captured by the human eye and categorized as near and far in the brain, the optical pair allows us to perceive spatiality and perspective. Virtual Matter II is a deconstructed digital depiction which may be interpreted as a virtual landscape or space.
Aaron uses thick archival paper for his works, which combined with the pigment ink print enables the haptic perception of the velvet surface of this work.
