Wiebke Maria Wachmann

Bright light blending ones eyes is the first impression one gets while entering the studio of Wiebke Maria Wachmann.

Outlighting in order to make things concrete seems however not to be the aim of the artist. Streamlined surfaces of the objects reflecting fluricent light in her studio seem almost immaterial.

The combination if light, space and surfaces of the objects in her installations plunges the viewer into an illusion and forces questioning her perception as result of this sensual experience. The unconscious is lived out and comes to the fore referencing german romanticism which is Wiebke's inspiration for her work.
